Braces, Invisalign, Smile Direct Club – What’s Right for Me?

First things first; your teeth are extremely important not just cosmetically but also in how they function. Dental Pros is very serious about teeth. After all, we are a multispecialty office. We started with braces, so we are experts. Then, we added dental cleanings and crowns. Last but not least, we added oral surgery. All in all, we are a one-stop shop. But we are here to tell you that a consultation is always needed. Many think with so many ways to straighten your teeth that you can just choose whatever treatment you’d like. That’s not necessarily true, so let’s discuss why.

First, Smile Direct Club claims to be able to move your teeth quickly without doctor visits. Sure, you can do that without a doctor. But we have had many patients come in with dead teeth, an off bite or overall discomfort. This is due to the fact that teeth are living things, and they are not something you can move quickly without killing the blood supply. Also, the movement of teeth will change your bite. When this happens without the supervision of a doctor so many things can go wrong. Then you are either forced to pay more money to fix the bite, or get a tooth pulled. We are here to tell you that one size DOES NOT fit all.

Secondly, Invisalign! We are contracted with Invisalign and we do offer it as an alternative to braces. So, you would think I have two options: braces or Invisalign. Well, for some people they do have two choices. However, some are like an employee of ours. She wanted to fix her bite with Invisalign. Once we had a consult, we realized her roots to her teeth are too short and she would end up toothless. So, braces were her only option. That is why we are here today – to tell you that although orthodontics is advancing, a consultation is needed to prevent all of these issues. We care so much about our patients. When we began to see new patients visiting our office that were in distress over these quick methods of working towards a better smile, it made us aware that the education and knowledge we have needs to be shared. So please give us a call to see what options best fits your needs.
