Why might I need dental X-rays?
X-rays can reveal areas that are not visible during a routine visual exam and may help the clinician diagnose concerns and plan care. Your dentist will recommend them based on your history and clinical needs.
How is a crown different from a filling?
A filling repairs a smaller area of damaged tooth structure. A crown covers and supports more of the tooth when damage, decay, or fracture is more extensive. An exam is needed to determine the appropriate option.
How long will I need to wear my retainers?
Retention schedules vary. Many patients begin with full-time wear and later transition to nighttime wear. Follow the schedule your orthodontist provides for your treatment.
What is the difference between local, twilight, and general anesthesia?
Local anesthesia numbs a specific area while you remain awake. Sedation can help you feel relaxed while remaining responsive, while general anesthesia produces a controlled state of unconsciousness. Your surgical team will review the option appropriate for your procedure and health history.

Dr. Michael and Sydney created a comfortable environment, evaluated my dental situation and provided options for me to consider. Anna walked me through the insurance and payment options. After avoiding dental visits for years – after all, who really wants to go to the dentist? – these folks provided such a positive (dare I say enjoyable?) experience, so much so that I made another appointment for the next day.
